Jharkhand/Ranchi: In view of the inconveniences prevailing at the Pandra Agricultural Market, a delegation from the Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce, led by President Aditya Malhotra, visited the Pandra Agricultural Market on Friday to assess the situation.
During the inspection, encroachments were observed, filth in both the main market yard and the terminal market yard, waterlogging, malfunctioning taps, and the absence of CCTV. It was also learned that security guards have been unavailable at the market for the past six months, leading to frequent incidents of theft and snatching. Following the inspection, the delegation met with traders at the market to discuss their problems.
Traders forced to trade in filth: Mahuri
On the spot, Sanjay Mahuri, President of the Ranchi Chamber, Pandra, stated that traders at the Pandra Market are forced to trade in filth. There is no drinking water facility in the market, nor are any streetlights in working condition. The entire market complex plunges into darkness by evening. The dilapidated roads make it difficult for people to walk during the rainy season. Despite traders repeatedly bringing these problems to the attention of the Market Committee Secretary, no action is taken. Shops and warehouses are falling apart, and despite shopkeepers expressing their desire to repair them themselves, the Market Committee prohibits them.

Following the suggestion of Joint Secretary Rohit Poddar, the Chamber and Pandra Market traders agreed to resolve all problems on a priority basis through mutual coordination.
