The Ranchi district administration is in full action mode regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, during a review meeting held at the NIC auditorium in the Collectorate, made it clear that the work must be completed within the timeframe set by the Election Commission at all costs, and negligence at any level would not be tolerated.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the distribution, collection, and digitization of enumeration forms across all assembly constituencies. Instructions were issued to accelerate work in 'mission mode' and achieve 100% targets at polling stations where progress was found to be slow.

Expressing displeasure over the slow progress, the Deputy Commissioner ordered the issuance of show-cause notices to the AERO-cum-Circle Officer (CO) of Ratu, the CO of Chanho, the CO of Hehal, and AMC Chandra Deep Kumar. Additionally, orders were issued to serve show-cause notices and withhold the salaries of the AERO (Bundu) and the CO (Bargain) for remaining absent from the meeting without prior intimation.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the District Social Welfare Officer and the District Superintendent of Education to ensure that all BLO Supervisors work closely with the BLOs over the next six days to expedite the form distribution, collection, and digitization processes.

He emphasized that the Special Intensive Revision-2026 is a crucial phase of the electoral process. Therefore, he directed that suspension proceedings be initiated against BLO Supervisors if necessary, and that show-cause notices be issued to BLOs who have completed less than 50% of the digitization work.

Officials and staff from relevant departments—including EROs, AEROs, the District Deputy Election Officer, and the District Public Relations Officer—representing all seven assembly constituencies of Ranchi district, attended the meeting.
