"₹10,000 Crore Unaccounted For" — Allegations of Shielding Senior Officials Despite Finance Minister's Admission: Pratul Shahdeo
📍 Ranchi | M Bharat 24 News Live
Pratul Shahdeo, the chief spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand, leveled serious allegations against the state government regarding the alleged ₹10,000 crore treasury scam. He stated that even though the Finance Minister himself has admitted that approximately ₹10,000 crore of government funds from the past few years remains unaccounted for, the government is busy shielding its favored officials in violation of established rules. He alleged that the CID investigation failed to fix responsibility on treasury officials and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), despite their accountability being clearly defined in the Jharkhand Treasury Code and Financial Rules.
Pratul Shahdeo remarked that the government has taken action only against low-level employees, while attempts are allegedly being made to give a clean chit to senior officials. He claimed that the role of treasury officials in the Fodder Scam had also been acknowledged by the courts. Furthermore, he alleged that the state government failed to provide the documents requested by the Principal Accountant General (PAG) for a special audit in a timely manner. Ajay Rai, the BJP's state co-media in-charge, was also present at the press conference.
