On Tuesday, marking the first death anniversary of the late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren, Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari visited his ancestral home in Nimra (Ramgarh)—his birthplace—to pay a heartfelt tribute. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Gandey MLA Kalpana Murmu Soren, and other members of the Soren family were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Ansari sat with the Soren family and reminisced about Guruji’s struggles, sacrifices, and the historic journey of the Jharkhand movement. He noted that while Shibu Soren was born in Nimra, the strong foundation of his political journey was laid on the soil of Jamtara. He fought a lifelong battle against usury, exploitative moneylending practices, and oppression, while championing the rights of tribal, Dalit, backward, and minority communities.
The Health Minister stated that Guruji dedicated his entire life to protecting *Jal, Jungle, and Zameen* (water, forests, and land) and upholding the identity of Jharkhand. It is the result of his tireless struggle and sacrifice that a separate state of Jharkhand exists today, providing the opportunity to serve the people.
Dr. Ansari said, "Hemant Soren ji is like an elder brother to me; Kalpana Bhabhi and the entire Soren family are like my own family. Guruji’s absence is an irreparable loss for the whole of Jharkhand. In this hour of grief, my family and I stand firmly with the Soren family."
He added that Guruji’s ideals, vision of social justice, and spirit of struggle would continue to inspire future generations. Guruji’s legacy lives on in every corner of Jharkhand, and the true tribute to him would be to take the state to new heights of development, social justice, and brotherhood by following the path he showed.
