President Draupadi Murmu flags off PBG Soldierathon, conveys message of solidarity in honor of soldiers

President Draupadi Murmu virtually flagged off the PBG Soldierathon, organized by the President's Bodyguard (PBG) Regiment, at a ceremony held from the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mizoram Governor and Patron of the initiative, General (Retd.) Dr. V.K. Singh, was also present on the occasion. The President also released a special postal cover commemorating the event.
The Soldierathon, held at the Cariappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment, was themed "Run for Soldiers, Run with Soldiers" and "Real Heroes – Support India's Armed Forces." The event aims to strengthen the bond between civilians and the armed forces and to convey a message of respect and solidarity for the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of soldiers.
The Soldierathon was held in three categories: 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km. Proceeds from the race will be used to support the Armed Forces Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre, the rehabilitation of battle-wounded soldiers, the welfare of the families of martyred and injured soldiers, and the horses and soldiers of the President's Bodyguard Regiment.
