Hemant Soren Outlines Vision for Jharkhand's Development at NITI Aayog Meeting
Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren presented a detailed roadmap for the state's development at the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog held in New Delhi. He stated that the government's goal is to develop Jharkhand not merely as a state rich in mineral resources, but as a manufacturing hub, a knowledge economy, and a major center for employment.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the state's mineral wealth would yield maximum benefits only if mineral-based industries are established locally, value addition takes place within the state, and employment opportunities are created for the youth. He sought cooperation from the Central Government in sectors such as critical minerals, research, innovation, textiles, electronics, green energy, logistics, and agro-food processing.
During the meeting, Hemant Soren also highlighted the state government's achievements in education, health, skill development, sports, and agriculture. He noted that students from 'CM Schools of Excellence' are now securing admissions in IITs and medical institutions, while lakhs of youths have received skill training under the 'Saarthi Yojana'. Training programs related to AI, drones, electric vehicles, and solar technology are also being conducted in the state.
The Chief Minister also placed several key demands before the Centre, including the release of remaining funds for the 'Jal Jeevan Mission', approval for medical colleges, settlement of outstanding dues owed by coal companies, and the development of sports infrastructure. He stated that by strengthening education, health, and skill development, Jharkhand is moving forward in alignment with the goal of a 'Viksit Bharat 2047' (Developed India 2047).
