No Shortage of Work Orders in HEC, Provided Production Remains Consistent: Leeladhar Singh

Jharkhand/Ranchi: The executive meeting of the HEC Project Workers’ Union (INTUC) was held on Wednesday at the union office in Dhurwa. During the meeting, Union General Secretary and INTUC National Secretary Leeladhar Singh stated that there is no shortage of work orders in Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) — provided that production continues without interruption. He emphasized that the salaries of HEC employees can only be paid regularly from the revenue generated through production and sales.

Singh further said that for employees who have taken personal loans from banks, the EMI should be deducted and paid to the bank simultaneously with salary disbursement. He urged management to initiate the tender process for contract workers soon, as the current contract period is set to expire in two months.

Expressing concern, he pointed out that even after more than four months of new contracts, several workers from the Heavy Machine Building Plant (HMBP), headquarters, and Foundry Forge Plant (FFP) have not yet received their salaries, calling the situation unfortunate and holding the management responsible.

He also demanded that the management ensure Voluntary Provident Fund (VPF) payments along with salaries and restart the CPF loan facility to help employees during financial hardship. Singh added that the promotion process for the 2018 batch of technical workers should begin soon.

Despite the financial crisis, he insisted that arrangements be made to ensure the payment of salaries for November.

The meeting was attended by Girish Kumar Chauhan, Rajendra Kant Mahato, Bhola Saw, Dilip, Ram Mohan Baitha, Jagannath Ram, and several other HEC employees.
