Fervor Marks Ashadhi Puja; Mayor Roshni Khalkho Prays for Prosperity and Good Rainfall
Ranchi: The Ashadhi Puja was celebrated with great religious fervor and enthusiasm on Sunday at the traditional *Madai* (sacred grove) located in the Hatma *Mauza* of the capital, Ranchi. As in previous years, a large number of devotees gathered to offer prayers, seeking good rainfall, a bountiful harvest, and the welfare of the community.
The event commenced with rituals performed by the Chief *Pahan* (traditional priest), Jaglal Pahan. Subsequently, Ranchi Municipal Corporation Mayor Roshni Khalkho and Ward No. 19 Councilor Geeta Kumari offered prayers with devotion, wishing for the happiness, peace, and prosperity of the local residents.
Extending her heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the city's residents on the occasion of Ashadhi Puja, Mayor Roshni Khalkho remarked that this festival is significant, as it is deeply connected to nature, agriculture, and tribal cultural traditions. She stated that prayers were offered for good rainfall, an abundant harvest, and prosperity in the lives of all citizens. She also urged the people to preserve their cultural heritage and traditional festivals.
Great enthusiasm was evident among the devotees during the worship. Amidst the traditional atmosphere and religious devotion, people expressed their reverence for nature through their prayers.
A large number of local devotees and prominent citizens, including Shiv Shankar Khalkho, Guddu Khalkho, Mukesh, Suresh Tigga, Shankar Khalkho, Vijay, and Ramdev Khalkho, were present on the occasion.
