Major Success for Chatra Police: Wanted TSPC Militant Naresh Ganjhu (alias Ravikant) Arrested
Chatra: In a significant breakthrough during an anti-Naxal operation, Chatra Police have arrested Naresh Ganjhu, alias Ravikant, a wanted member of the banned militant organization TSPC. The accused was apprehended following a strategic encirclement in Mandhaniya village, under the jurisdiction of the Lawalong police station. He faces charges in several serious cases, including murder, extortion, attacks on police, illegal possession of weapons, and violations under the UAPA.
Action Taken Based on Secret Information
During a press conference held on Monday, Simaria SDPO Nagargoje Shubham Bhausaheb stated that the police had received intelligence indicating that Naresh Ganjhu, an active TSPC member, was hiding in his native village, Mandhaniya. Acting on this information and under the directives of the Superintendent of Police, a special anti-Naxal operation was launched. A police team surrounded and arrested him in the forest area near the village football ground.
Wanted in Six Serious Cases
According to the police, a total of six serious cases are registered against Naresh Ganjhu (alias Ravikant) across various police stations in Chatra and Latehar districts. These cases involve charges such as attempted murder, extortion, attacks on police forces, kidnapping, illegal possession of weapons, and violations of the Arms Act, CLA Act, and UAPA.

The arrest operation was led by Simaria SDPO Nagargoje Shubham Bhausaheb. The operation involved personnel from the Lawalong police station, the 35th Battalion of the SSB, and the armed police force.
"Anti-Naxal Operations Will Continue"
The SDPO stated that anti-Naxal operations in the district would continue unabated. Arresting wanted criminals linked to banned organizations and maintaining peace, law and order in the region remain the top priorities for Chatra Police.
