Ranchi, October 28, 2026: Dinesh Soni, President of the Ranchi District E-Rickshaw Drivers’ Union, Vice-President Shakeel Rain, and General Secretary MD Abbas issued a joint press statement highlighting the problems faced by e-rickshaw drivers operating in Ranchi city. According to the union, drivers are facing concerns over alleged arbitrary fines and new rules reportedly being introduced by the district administration. The union has expressed apprehension that these proposed rules could adversely affect e-rickshaw operations in the city.
In view of these issues, the Ranchi District E-Rickshaw Drivers’ Union has decided to convene an emergency meeting on October 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM. The meeting will be held at the union office at Duke Mansion, Line Tank Road, Ranchi. Discussions will focus on the fines imposed on e-rickshaw drivers, the proposed rules, and other problems faced by them. The union will also consider its future strategy to protect the interests of drivers.
MD Abbas, General Secretary of the union, has appealed to all office-bearers and e-rickshaw drivers to attend the meeting on time and help make it successful. The meeting aims to discuss the issues in detail and decide on appropriate steps to address the concerns of e-rickshaw drivers before the situation worsens.
