Special Training on Natural Farming for 'Krishi Sakhis' under National Mission on Natural Farming; Call to Disseminate Techniques to Farmers
Ranchi: A five-day training program for 'Krishi Sakhis' (women agricultural extension workers) was organized at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Morabadi, Ranchi, under the National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF). The objective of the training was to equip the Krishi Sakhis with advanced and practical techniques of natural farming, thereby preparing them to serve as effective guides for farmers.
The District Horticulture Officer (DHO), Ranchi, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Swami Ishwaranand Ji presided over the event, while Dr. Ajit Kumar Singh, Senior Scientist and Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, was present as the guest of honor.
In their addresses, the dignitaries emphasized that natural farming is an effective means to increase farmers' income, maintain soil fertility, and conserve the environment. They urged the Krishi Sakhis to play a pivotal role in expanding natural farming by disseminating the knowledge and techniques acquired during the training to as many farmers as possible.
Shibu Bedia, Amit Kumar Singh, and Ram made commendable contributions to the successful conduct of the training program. Subject matter experts provided both theoretical and practical training on various natural farming techniques, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
The five-day training program was coordinated by Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Scientist (Agronomy) and Course Coordinator. The event was well-organized under his efficient leadership and coordination.
At the conclusion of the program, gratitude was expressed to all guests, trainers, support staff, and participants, and a collective pledge was taken to take the message of natural farming to the masses.
