🎭Folk Culture Shines at Rath Mela; Government Schemes Promoted
Ranchi: A magnificent blend of folk culture and public awareness was witnessed on Thursday at the cultural stage of the Information and Public Relations Department during the historic Jagannathpur Rath Mela. Folk artists from Jharkhand entertained the audience with Nagpuri songs, *Jhumar* performances, and traditional dances. Simultaneously, they conveyed messages regarding the state government's public welfare schemes and social causes, such as de-addiction.
The program commenced with a devotional tribute (*Vandana*) to Lord Jagannath by Sudama Singh. Subsequently, *Mardani Jhumar* and Nagpuri dance performances added vibrancy to the fair's atmosphere.
Commending the department's initiative, Padma Shri Madhu Mansuri Hansmukh remarked that such events not only provide a new identity to Jharkhand's folk art and artists but also disseminate information about government schemes to the public.
Led by Neetu Devi, artists promoted government schemes through Nagpuri songs and dances, while Ratan Lohra’s team raised public awareness about de-addiction through a street play (*Nukkad Natak*).
The department announced that Oraon folk songs, Nagpuri music and dance, and other cultural performances are scheduled for July 24, with the cultural program concluding on July 25 alongside the *Ghurti Rath Mela* (Return Chariot Procession).
