In a press statement issued on Wednesday, AJSU General Secretary Sanjay Mehta said that the state government has lost its moral right to seek votes due to its repeated failures. He stated that the government has completely failed to deliver on key issues such as employment, recruitment, displacement, rehabilitation, education, law and order, and social justice.
Mehta said that the people of Jharkhand had elected this government with a strong mandate, hoping it would protect their interests, but it has only disappointed them at every step. The government ignored major promises like job creation, formulation of a local policy, and reservation in the private sector. It also failed to address critical issues such as teacher recruitment, prevention of migration, curbing of paper leaks, and regularization of contractual employees.
He further questioned why the government has remained silent on vital matters such as the implementation of the PESA Act, recognition of the Sarna religious code, and enforcement of OBC reservation. Mehta said that the government’s inaction on these fronts clearly shows its lack of commitment to the people’s welfare.
