Conspiracy also hatched to target Delhi’s Azadpur Market
Gujrat/Ahmedabad (H.S.): Shocking revelations have emerged following the arrest of three ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) terrorists by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) from Gandhinagar and Palanpur. According to sources, the arrested operatives had conducted reconnaissance of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Lucknow and the crowded Azadpur Market in Delhi, both of which were on their potential target list.
The three accused — Azad Suleman Shaikh, Mohammad Suhail, and Ahmed Mohiuddin Sayed — were reportedly in touch with each other through social media. Investigators revealed that the group frequently exchanged messages about “taking revenge” and “uniting people for jihad.” Shaikh and Suhail had earlier conducted surveillance of sensitive and crowded areas in Ahmedabad.
The arrests were made during a joint operation between the Gujarat ATS and central intelligence agencies. Officials said the trio had been plotting large-scale terror attacks across Gujarat and other parts of India.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Shaikh and Suhail had collected weapons from Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, and hidden them inside a cemetery near Gandhinagar. Meanwhile, Hyderabad resident Ahmed Mohiuddin Sayed was on his way to collect these weapons when the ATS intercepted him. From his possession, police recovered four foreign-made pistols, 30 live cartridges, and 40 liters of castor oil.
A detailed examination of Mohiuddin’s mobile phone exposed his links with the other two suspects and the broader ISIS module operating in India. Following this lead, the ATS arrested the remaining two members from different locations in Gujarat.
According to DIG Sunil Joshi of the Gujarat ATS, Ahmed Mohiuddin Sayed is a highly educated individual who completed his MBBS from China. He was reportedly in direct contact with Abu Khadim, a member of the ISIS-Khorasan Province, who had assigned him the task of raising funds and recruiting members for anti-India operations.
