Electrical division office in New Capital Ranchi struggles with filth; consumers forced to walk through muddy water

Ranchi: Despite the winter season, the office of the Electrical Executive Engineer, Electricity Supply Division, New Capital Ranchi, continues to resemble a rainy-day scenario. The moment consumers enter the premises, they encounter dirty stagnant water and slippery mud, making the environment unsafe and inconvenient.

Right beside the main entrance of the Executive Engineer’s office lies the SDO chamber and the bill submission counter. However, reaching the counter has become a daily challenge. Consumers visiting the office to deposit bills must jump over muddy puddles and contaminated water. A slight slip can result in them falling and getting injured.

The problem is not limited to consumers alone. Office staff who park their two-wheelers near the counter also face similar difficulties. Many staff members have slipped while crossing the muddy patch, and their vehicles have toppled multiple times due to the imbalance caused by slippery soil.

Consumers have reported that moss and algae accumulated near the counter area have made the situation even worse. One consumer, on the condition of anonymity, stated that the entire state is promoting cleanliness campaigns, yet an important electricity office located in the heart of the capital continues to remain neglected. He questioned how long people would be forced to deal with such conditions and why no corrective step has been taken so far.

Sources have also indicated a rise in electricity theft cases. Allegations have surfaced that, in some instances, consumers are being troubled through fabricated or unnecessary case filings. These claims raise serious concerns about transparency and fairness within the division.
Local citizens hope that the administration will soon take concrete action to improve cleanliness, drainage, and public convenience in the office premises.
