Peace committee meeting held in Tandwa regarding Muharram; strict vigil to be kept on rumour-mongers
Tandwa (Chatra): A peace committee meeting was held at the Tandwa police station premises to ensure the upcoming Muharram festival is observed in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. The meeting was presided over by Block Development Officer (BDO) Devlal Oraon. Station House Officer (SHO) Pappu Kumar Sharma, Zila Parishad member Subhash Yadav, Vikas Pandey, along with public representatives from various panchayats, members of *Akhada* committees, and prominent citizens, were present.
Officials clearly stated that maintaining law and order during Muharram is the administration's top priority. Additional police forces will be deployed in sensitive areas during the festival, and special vigilance will be maintained regarding security arrangements.
SHO Pappu Kumar Sharma urged the public to remain cautious of rumors and misleading information circulating on social media. He advised against sharing any information without verifying its authenticity. The administration will continuously monitor social media activity, and strict action will be taken against those spreading rumors.
Detailed discussions were held with the *Khalifas* (leaders) of various *Akhada* committees regarding the designated routes and timings for the *Tazia* procession and *Pahlam*. Officials urged all committees to adhere to the route charts and schedules prescribed by the administration to ensure that traffic flow and security arrangements remain undisturbed.
Representatives from 13 licensed and 17 non-licensed *Akhada* groups also presented their concerns and suggestions to the administration. Officials advised them to immediately inform the police station of any issues in their respective areas so that timely resolutions could be found.
Several public representatives and prominent community members attended the meeting, including *Mukhiya* Sunita Devi (Saradhu), Devki Rajak, Rajendra Nayak, Moin Ansari, Farooq Miyan, Kundan Paswan, and Akash Paswan. Everyone pledged to celebrate Muharram in a spirit of brotherhood, peace, and harmony, and assured the administration of their full cooperation.
