Nemra, Ramgarh, October 18, 2026: A ritual feast in memory of Rupi Soren, mother of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was held on Sunday in her family’s ancestral village of Nemra. Thousands of people arrived to pay tribute to Rupi Soren and express their condolences to the Soren family. Political leaders, ministers, MPs, MLAs, administrative officials, social workers and other dignitaries from across the country and the state visited the village and paid floral tributes to her portrait.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren personally reviewed the arrangements and met distinguished guests as well as members of the public who came to offer their condolences. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who stood by the family and offered support during this difficult time. Considering the large gathering and the arrival of VIPs and other dignitaries, the district administration and police made extensive security and traffic arrangements. Adequate facilities were arranged for vehicle parking, seating and meals, while announcements were made regularly to guide visitors.
Police personnel and administrative officials remained alert to maintain security in Nemra and the surrounding areas. Special attention was given to crowd management, traffic control and visitor convenience. On behalf of Chief Minister Hemant Soren and his family, heartfelt gratitude was expressed to all citizens, public representatives, well-wishers, administrative officials and police personnel who extended their support and condolences during this difficult time.
