October 19, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Mahanavami, the ninth day of Sharadiya Navratri, devotees worshipped Maa Siddhidatri, the ninth form of Goddess Durga, with traditional rituals and devotion. Temples and worship pandals witnessed a large gathering of devotees from the morning. People offered prayers to the Goddess and sought blessings for happiness, peace, good health and prosperity for their families.
According to religious beliefs, Maa Siddhidatri is the Goddess who bestows spiritual powers and divine blessings upon her devotees. Her form is considered divine and auspicious. On Mahanavami, devotees worshipped Maa Durga through the chanting of sacred mantras, recitation of the Durga Saptashati and special religious rituals. Havan and Kanya Pujan were also organised at several places. Devotees worshipped young girls as manifestations of the Goddess, served them food and offered gifts and dakshina.
Mahanavami holds special significance in the nine-day spiritual observance of Navratri. On this sacred day, devotees prayed to Maa Durga for happiness, peace, prosperity and positive energy in their lives. Temples and places of worship were filled with a devotional atmosphere, while chants of “Jai Mata Di” echoed throughout the surroundings.
