Axis Bank Branding on Government Administrative Building of Pandara Agricultural Market Committee Raises Questions Over Rule Violation

Axis Bank Branding on Government Administrative Building of Pandara Agricultural Market Committee Raises Questions Over Rule Violation

Ranchi | Pandara Market

The administrative building of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Pandara (Ranchi), is currently displaying the name and logo of Axis Bank prominently. On the main entrance, “Axis Bank” is written on one side, while “Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Pandara Ranchi – Administrative Building” is displayed on the other. This branding by a private bank on a government building has raised serious concerns.

According to locals, 4–5 people mistakenly enter the premises every day assuming it to be a branch of Axis Bank, whereas it is actually the administrative office of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee.

Experts Flag Clear Violation of Rules

Legal experts state that in Jharkhand, no private company is allowed to install advertisements, promotional displays, logos, or branding on government buildings. Clear guidelines exist to prevent the commercial use of public property.

Misuse of Government Property:
Government buildings are meant for public service. Allowing private companies to promote themselves on such premises goes against their primary purpose.

Violation of Regulations:
Displaying the logo of a private bank or company on a government building constitutes misuse of government assets and is a direct breach of professional conduct and regulatory norms.
