Petrol Bomb Attack on RSS Jharkhand Office in Ranchi; Demand for Enhanced Security
Ranchi: An incident involving a petrol bomb attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Jharkhand provincial office, located in the Nivaranpur area under the Chutia police station limits, has come to light. The Sangh has lodged a formal written complaint with the Chutia police station regarding the incident, demanding the arrest of the attackers and an increase in security for the office.
According to the complaint, two unidentified individuals hurled a petrol bomb at the Sangh office, situated at 'Shri Niketan', around 12:36 AM on the night of June 16, 2026. It is claimed that the entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed within the office premises. The footage shows two individuals—whose faces are not clearly visible—throwing petrol bombs towards the office. The complaint states that the attackers threw petrol bombs not just once, but twice. One bomb exploded on the office roof, while the second did not explode but caused a fire due to the petrol, which was subsequently brought under control.
According to Sangh officials, approximately 20 people were present on the premises at the time of the incident. Had the fire spread rapidly, it could have resulted in significant loss of life. There was also a risk of extensive damage to the office property. The complaint describes the incident as a serious conspiracy aimed at damaging the Sangh office and creating an atmosphere of fear.
Following the incident, the Sangh submitted a formal request to the Chutia Station House Officer (SHO), demanding enhanced security for the office premises, the establishment of a permanent police picket near the office, and strict legal action against the attackers after identifying them.
