At the event held in the Aryabhatta Auditorium, the Governor stated that this topic is not only academic but also of vital importance for the future of humanity. He stated that the biggest challenge today is the judicious use and conservation of natural resources.
The Governor said that while globalization, industrialization, and urbanization have increased economic opportunities, they have also created serious problems such as indiscriminate exploitation of resources, pollution, climate change, and global warming. He emphasized that resource conservation is not just about saving resources, but rather about regenerating them and using them in a balanced manner, so that future generations can benefit from them.
Highlighting the uniqueness of Jharkhand, he said that it is a land of heroes, where many great personalities, including Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, sacrificed their lives for the motherland. The Governor said that the nature-based lifestyle of tribal society is an excellent example of sustainable development. He expressed happiness that approximately 30 percent of Jharkhand's area is still forested.
Finally, the Governor expressed confidence that the deliberations of scientists, academics, and researchers at this international conference will yield concrete suggestions and action plans that will serve as a guide for policymakers and planners.
He wished the conference success and said that this event will inspire us to move forward with firm resolve towards environmental balance and sustainable development.
