Governor and Chief Minister Pay Tribute to 'Dharti Aba' Bhagwan Birsa Munda
Ranchi, June 9: Tribute ceremonies were held today at the memorial site in Kokar and at Birsa Chowk to mark the death anniversary of 'Dharti Aba' Birsa Munda. On this occasion, Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Hemant Soren paid heartfelt tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda by offering floral tributes.
The Governor and the Chief Minister first offered flowers at the memorial site in Kokar and subsequently paid their respects by garlanding his statue at Birsa Chowk. During the event, both leaders recalled the personality, contributions, and struggles of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that on the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda's death anniversary, people from all sections of society across the country—especially the tribal community—are remembering him with reverence. He remarked that even after more than a century, Birsa Munda's inspiring persona continues to serve as a guiding light for the people.
The Chief Minister added that the struggles, ideals, and the path shown by Bhagwan Birsa Munda would continue to inspire future generations. He noted that, just as in previous years, people have gathered at his memorial site to pay tribute, and he will continue to be remembered with the same reverence in the future.
