ED raids in land fraud case, documents and cash worth Rs 60 lakh seized

Jharkhand/Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids launched in connection with a land fraud case at Kanke Achal in Ranchi concluded on Wednesday. A large amount of cash, documents, and other items were seized during the two-day operation.

Official sources stated that Rs 60 lakh in cash, documents related to the purchase and sale of land, digital devices, and documents related to financial transactions were also seized during the raids.

On September 23rd, the ED launched raids at nine locations, including six in Ranchi and three in Delhi, belonging to individuals associated with BK Singh of Kanke Resort, Anil Jha, director of Durga Developers, and Gunjan Singh, in connection with the forged documents and the purchase and sale of land. A total of Rs 60 lakh in cash was seized from the premises of BK Singh and his associates. In addition, documents related to the land transaction were also seized.

It is noteworthy that a charge sheet has already been filed against Kanke's zonal officials, including Kamlesh Kumar Singh, for allegedly falsifying Kanke zone documents and selling tribal land to non-tribals. Jaikumar Ram, one of the accused zonal officials, has died. Kamlesh Singh is currently in judicial custody in this case. Previously, during a raid at Kamlesh Singh's hideout, ₹1 crore (approximately $10 million) and live rifle cartridges were recovered.
