Tata Steel Foundation players will hoist the flag of Bihar-Jharkhand in the National Karate Championship

 

Jharkhand/East Singhbhum: Two emerging karate players Sunakshi Gupta and Hiba Firdaus associated with Dhatkidih Community Center, Tata Steel Foundation, located in Bistupur, will now showcase their talent at the national level.

Both of them qualified for the upcoming National Karate Championship by winning gold medals in the All India School Certificate Examination Council (CISCE) Regional Karate Selection Competition 2025 held in Patna. This information was given by Tata Steel in a press release on Sunday.

The National Karate Championship will be held from 15 to 18 September at the Center of Sports Excellence in Bengaluru. In this competition, Sunakshi Gupta will represent Bihar-Jharkhand region in the 64–68 kg category and Hiba Firdaus in the above 68 kg category.

Their trainers Shihan Sarju Ram and Sensei M. Prashant have expressed happiness over this success of the players. This achievement is also a proud moment for the Karate unit of Tata Steel Foundation. The organization has been continuously providing encouragement and guidance to the youth in sports and as a result, the talents here are making their mark at the national level.
