Awareness Program Against Substance Abuse and Tobacco; Students Create Paintings

Ranchi: An awareness program and painting competition regarding the dangers of substance abuse and tobacco consumption were organized on Friday for students of the NMTC Nursing School at the Civil Surgeon's office in Ranchi. The event was presided over by Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar.

Dr. Prabhat Kumar stated that the consumption of tobacco and narcotics is extremely detrimental to health, increasing the risk of cancer, heart disease, lung ailments, and mental health issues. He urged the youth to stay away from substance abuse and to raise awareness among others as well.

On this occasion, the students expressed their views by creating paintings centered on the themes of de-addiction and tobacco prohibition. The three students who performed exceptionally well were awarded prizes. The event was attended by the Nursing School principal, faculty members, health workers, and counselor Sushant Kumar. Everyone took a pledge to make society free from substance abuse.
