According to Daily Trust, suspected Boko Haram terrorists killed dozens of civilians and an unknown number of soldiers in Darul Jamal of Borno State. A large number of people were injured in the attack. The attackers killed people in a barbaric manner and set houses on fire. During the attack, many people ran away from there and saved their lives.

This incident happened on Friday night at around 9 pm (local time). Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum visited Darul Jamal on Saturday and expressed condolences to the families of the 63 people killed by Boko Haram terrorists.

The victims included five soldiers and about 58 civilians. All of them were earlier displaced by the insurgents but returned to Darul Jamal two months ago.

State Governor Umara Zulum confirmed that 63 people were killed in the incident and consoled the bereaved families. He met the community leaders and said that it is very sad. This community was settled only a few months ago and was carrying out its normal activities, but unfortunately last night they had to face the attack of Boko Haram.

It is worth mentioning that local jihadists of Nigeria formed Boko Haram in the year 2009. The objective of this organization was to impose a radical Islamic system while opposing Western education. For this purpose, the terrorists of the organization spread terror by carrying out dozens of barbaric incidents. After the death of Boko Haram's notorious leader Abubakar Shekau in 2021, the organization split into two parts. One faction is associated with the Islamic State group and is known as Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). This faction usually attacks the army. The other faction Jama'atu Ahlis Sunna Liddavati Wal-Jihad (JAS) targets civilians and carries out incidents of ransom and robbery.
