All buses in Delhi will be electric by the end of 2026: Chief Minister

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Monday that all buses in the national capital will be electric by the end of 2026. There will also be electric charging stations in every bus depot. She also said that 10 'NaMo Forests' will be developed in Delhi, where green environment will be promoted.

The Chief Minister said at a media institution's program here that 'Dust Litigation Program' has been implemented to control pollution in Delhi and measures are being taken to control smoke on high-rise buildings. Many prominent dignitaries including invited member of the All India Executive of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and educationist Mukul Kanitkar, editor of Panchjanya Hitesh Shankar were present in the program.

The Chief Minister said that 1200 'Arogya Mandirs' are being built in the capital, where all kinds of facilities will be available. Targeting the Kejriwal government, he said that it only promoted the making of a medicine to eliminate stubble, but did not take any concrete steps. Even the medical staff was left like daily wage laborers.

He said that the modern infrastructure of Delhi-NCR is the gift of the central government and no amount of thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this would be enough. He said that there are 700 slum clusters and 180 unauthorized colonies in Delhi's 2.5 crore population, which are being worked on to organize. Also, work is being done on a plan to make Delhi a hub of IT, tourism and education. He said that the strength of Delhi is its culture and diversity, but the weakness is that people do not fulfill their responsibilities by considering it as their home.

Gupta said that the previous governments did not use the funds properly in arrogance and focused only on publicity. Money was wasted on projects like Sheesh Mahal, made from the hard-earned money of Delhi, now after our government is formed, the money invested in it will be recovered with interest. The Chief Minister said that the goal of Developed India 2047 will be achieved only when good roads, better transport and adequate water supply will be given first priority in Delhi.

On this occasion, Panchjanya editor Hitesh Shankar said that the discussion of infrastructure is not only about development, but also about resolve. The echo of India's civilization and prosperity is heard from Harappa to Pataliputra and this journey is also visible in the construction of today's modern India. Urban development is not just the construction of buildings and roads, but it reflects the new strength of inclusive India. Today, when the concept of 'Vishisht Bharat 2047' is being put forward, it clearly reflects in which direction India's future is moving. Shankar said that this conference is not just a platform for policies and plans, but a symbol of India's self-confidence and its journey from ancient to modern.
