The creation of modern Jharkhand is possible only with the contribution of all of you. Our government hopes and trusts you that you will build such structures without any compromise, which will stand firmly for generations to come.
She was speaking at the 58th Engineer's Day celebration program organized on the occasion of the 164th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Shri Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya ji on Monday.
She said that Engineers Day is celebrated in India on 15 September as a memory and tribute to Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who is considered one of the greatest engineers of the country. Visvesvaraya is also called the father of Indian engineering due to his unprecedented contribution and innovations in the field of engineering and development of society. He said that today's young engineers should adopt the ideals of M. Visvesvaraya and play an active role in building a strong, modern and self-reliant future for Jharkhand.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Sudivya Kumar and Drinking Water and Sanitation, Excise and Prohibition Department Minister Yogendra Prasad were also present as special guests at the event. Both the ministers linked the role of engineers to the state's infrastructure, clean water supply, housing and urban development and appreciated their contribution. The role of engineers in society-building, innovation and sustainable development was highlighted at the ceremony and the engineers' technical knowledge, social commitment and contribution to the all-round development of Jharkhand were appreciated.
