Ranchi: The NIA court of Ranchi has refused to grant bail to Sanjay Ganjhu, accused in the case of CPI (Maoist) Naxalites attacking a police patrol team and killing four soldiers and looting weapons. The bail petition filed by him was heard in the court of the special judge of NIA. After hearing the arguments of the NIA during the hearing, the court rejected the petition. He has been in judicial custody continuously since January 2020 in the said case. The incident was carried out on 22 November 2019. In the NIA investigation, Sanjay Ganjhu was described as an over ground worker of the Maoist organization, who is accused of surveillance and giving information before the attack.
An FIR was registered in Chandwa police station of Latehar regarding the incident, which was taken over by the NIA in the year 2020 and started investigation. During patrolling, the police patrol team stopped the PCR vehicle near Lukaiya Mor in Chandwa. Meanwhile, the cadres of the banned organization i.e. CPI (Maoist), who were already waiting there, opened indiscriminate fire on the police patrol team and killed four police personnel. They also looted the weapons and ammunition of the police team.
