Sanskrit language is being treated step-motherly in Jharkhand: Dharmendra Tiwari

Ranchi. Senior Janata Dal (United) leader Dharmendra Tiwari said that in Jharkhand, Sanskrit language students are neither getting schools nor teachers. On the occasion of Sanskrit Day, he said that there are only three affiliated degree Sanskrit colleges in the state, the most prominent among them is the Sanskrit school located in Kishoreganj, which is about 100 years old. The condition of this school is very bad. In this Sanskrit college, admission in Upshastri (Inter) is closed and Sanskrit studies are also closed. Along with this, illegal occupation and vandalism is also happening in this 100-year-old school premises. But the education department has become indifferent.

Shri Tiwari said that on one hand the government talks about providing education to all the languages equally, but discriminates against Sanskrit, it is being treated step-motherly.

He said that Sanskrit language is one of the oldest languages in the world and its mother is India. Sanskrit language is revered with the dignity of Dev Bhasha, this language is quite neglected in Jharkhand, Sanskrit language is not groaning in Jharkhand but has become almost dead, due to which the followers of Sanatan culture feel ashamed. He requested the state government that the government should pay special attention to the promotion of Sanskrit language. The education department should establish Sanskrit at the block level for its regular studies and provide education of Sanskrit Sangam, unfortunately this has not been done till now.

Shri Tiwari demanded from the education department and the state government that Dev Bhasha Sanskrit should maintain its identity in Jharkhand like other states, for this, admission should be done in sufficient numbers in government Sanskrit schools and universities, education of Sanskrit institute should be done. So that the promising children of Jharkhand can also contribute in the field of education and society by learning Dev Bhasha Sanskrit.
