Garhwa: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of two national highway projects in Garhwa, Jharkhand. The total cost of these projects is Rs 2,460 crore. During this, he announced several schemes to promote road connectivity, employment generation and development of industries in Jharkhand. Addressing the function, Gadkari said that you have got a very good four-lane road. Former US President Kennedy used to say that if there are good roads, the country will prosper. Jharkhand is rich in minerals. Development is possible only when the youth here get work.

Gadkari, giving the example of his area, said that there was a shortage of water in our area, due to which 10 thousand farmers committed suicide. We changed the situation by building ponds. Soil was used in road construction. I will implement the same model in Jharkhand. 1,000 ponds will be built here too.

Appreciation of Jharkhandi craftsmanship regarding tassar-silk

Gadkari also praised Jharkhand's tassar saree and local art. He said that we send these sarees to Sahebganj and Godda and get Jharkhandi designs prepared on them. There is a huge demand for them across the country. There is no dearth of craftsmanship and skill here. All that is needed is training and encouragement.

Tori-Chandwa and Garhwa-Ambikapur road approved

During the program, Gadkari approved the Tori-Chandwa road and the four-lane road from Garhwa to Ambikapur. This decision was taken on the demand of local MLA Satyendra Tiwari and MP BD Ram. The minister said that it is the result of the efforts of MP BD Ram that today this road is becoming a reality.

Gadkari said that the work of four-lane road on the Economic Corridor from Varanasi to Kolkata is also in progress. Road projects worth a total of Rs 2 lakh crore will be operated in Jharkhand.

Farmers were called 'energy providers', CNG will be made from straw

Gadkari said that the farmers of the country will now not only be food providers, but also energy providers. Paddy is grown in Jharkhand, and bio-CNG can be made from straw. This scheme can be started here as well. He agreed with the statement of Jharkhand Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore that there should be politics till the elections, after that there should be politics of development.

In the end, Gadkari wished for the speedy recovery of former Chief Minister Shibu Soren and said that he has spoken to Hemant Soren. But he could not be present as he is with Shibu Soren in Delhi. Gadkari assured that no scheme will remain incomplete in Jharkhand.
