Problems of the state discussed in the executive committee meeting: Chamber
The inconvenience being faced in verification of equipment and license renewal due to lack of weights and measures officers was also discussed. It has been said that an initiative should be taken to post one inspector in each district of the state. Till the inspectors are posted, a board with the contact details of the inspectors and their availability days should be installed outside the departmental offices of all the districts of the state so that the traders of the concerned district can get proper information about it. The members apprised the assembly of the notices being issued on the irregularities that took place in the initial stages of the implementation of GST and said that an atmosphere of fear is being created among the traders by sending notices on this issue. Generally, notices are not being issued in other states on initial anomalies. The Chamber President expressed concern over the non-payment of work done to the contractors of the sanitation and drinking water department for 18 months and urged the state government to pay the contractors their dues in lieu of the work done as soon as possible.
In order to solve the problem of the people of the state that has been going on for years, the Chamber President urged the state government to constitute a high-level committee with the representation of stakeholders to review the provisions of Ranchi Master Plan 2037 and JBBL 2016 by the department. He also informed that a badminton tournament is being organized at the Khelgaon Stadium on 22 June under the joint aegis of Jharkhand Chamber and Board. Interested organizations can register their teams to participate in the tournament.
Describing the problem of waterlogging in the city as serious, Chamber General Secretary Aditya Malhotra said that the corporation has started cleaning work in Seva Sadan Path. It would be appropriate that the Municipal Corporation and the bodies should take initiative to solve the problem of waterlogging on a war footing in the entire state so that the common people and traders do not have to face problems during the rainy season.
