Government told the High Court on land survey; Jharkhand government is learning new technology of land survey from three states including Bihar, survey will be done soon

 

Ranchi: On Tuesday, a public interest petition filed by Gokul Chand regarding the land survey being done in the state was heard in the Jharkhand High Court in the division bench of Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Rajesh Shankar. During the hearing, the Jharkhand government told the court that three teams are learning technology from Bihar, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka for land survey. Recently, a team went to Karnataka which attended a conference in Andhra Pradesh and got information about how to update the technology. Apart from this, two other teams will learn new technology of land survey from Bihar and Karnataka. Due to which the technology of land survey will be upgraded in Jharkhand as well and the work of land survey will be expedited.

   The court has directed the state government to expedite the process of exchanging land survey technology with three states including Bihar and to move the work of land survey forward rapidly. The next hearing will be on September 16. Advocate Pratyush Shaunikya presented the case on behalf of the petitioner. In fact, in the last hearing, the Jharkhand government had told the court that the technology currently used for land survey in Jharkhand is very old, so there is a problem in completing the land survey. On this, the court had asked the Principal Secretary of the Land Revenue Reforms Department to file an affidavit and tell when will the Amin and other personnel be appointed to complete the land survey. Also, when will the old technology for land survey be advanced. Earlier, the division bench had verbally asked the state government when the land survey work in Jharkhand would be completed. Completion of the land survey on time will make it possible to protect the government land along with the land of the common people. Land survey work started in Jharkhand in 1975, which has not been completed even after 50 years. The process of appointing personnel and advancing technology to complete the land survey should be completed soon. During the previous hearing, Advocate General Rajiv Ranjan had told the court that the work of land survey is going on in Jharkhand. Land survey work has been completed in some districts. Many posts of Amin are vacant. Due to lack of technical staff for land survey, the survey work could not be completed. It is noteworthy that the applicant has filed a public interest litigation. It has been said in the petition that the land survey was done in the year 1932. After this, the process of land survey started in Jharkhand from 1980. In the last hearing, the government had told that the survey work is going on in the state. The survey has been completed in two districts Latehar and Lohardaga.
