Every person should prohibit tobacco: Civil Surgeon
Ranchi: On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, an awareness program cum workshop was organized on the harmful effects of tobacco use in Sadar Hospital Auditorium, Ranchi. Campaign Director, National Health Mission, Jharkhand Abu Imran attended the program as the chief guest.
Along with this, Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar, Zonal Director of NCB Rana Pratap Yadav, Dr. Sanjay Munda from CIP, Ranchi, NSS Coordinator Dr. Brajesh Kumar, Dr. Lal Manjhi State Nodal Officer, NCD, Dr. Birendra Prasad, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Seema Gupta from DLO and other doctors participated in the program.
In the program, Abu Imran (Campaign Director, National Health Mission, Jharkhand) said that every year in our country, about 3500 people die due to tobacco consumption.
Civil Surgeon, Ranchi Dr. Prabhat Kumar said that today every month around 1,15,000 patients are dying due to tobacco consumption across the country. If the breadwinner of the family dies due to drug consumption, then the family members face a lot of difficulty in providing for the family, therefore every person should prohibit tobacco.
