Raid at engineer's house, he started throwing bundles of notes from the window

 

Odisha: A sensational case has come to light from the state capital Bhubaneswar, where Chief Engineer Baikunth Nath Sarangi posted in the Rural Development Department of the state government panicked during the raid by the Vigilance Department and threw out cash worth crores of rupees from the window of his flat. This incident happened when the Vigilance Department took action against Baikunth Nath Sarangi in a case of disproportionate assets and simultaneously raided his various hideouts. During this raid, the officials conducted searches at a total of seven places located in Bhubaneswar, Angul and Pipili area of ​​Puri.

    The department recovered cash worth about Rs 2.1 crore during the action, out of which Rs 1.1 crore was seized from the residence in Angul and Rs 1 crore from the flat in Bhubaneswar. This amount was in 200, 100, 50 and 20 rupee notes including bundles of 500 rupee notes. The most shocking aspect of the incident came to light when the vigilance department team reached Sarangi's flat in Dumduma, Bhubaneswar. On getting the hint of the raid, Sarangi allegedly threw a large amount of cash down from the window of the flat. Later, the vigilance department officials seized the entire amount in the presence of witnesses.
