Traffic rules flouted in Ranchi; minors and youths seen riding without helmets
Ranchi: Despite continuous awareness campaigns and strict enforcement measures regarding road safety in the capital, Ranchi, traffic rules continue to be openly disregarded. A large number of minors and youths are frequently spotted riding two-wheelers without helmets at major intersections and busy thoroughfares across the city. In many instances, minors are seen speeding on the roads without a driving license, thereby endangering not only their own lives but also the safety of other commuters. Such scenes have become commonplace in areas like Birsa Munda Chowk and Heenu Chowk, raising serious questions about the state of road safety.
In this regard, an M Bharat 24 News Live correspondent spoke with Ranchi's Superintendent of Traffic Police, Rakesh Singh. He emphasized that people should wear helmets for their own safety rather than out of fear of the police or traffic fines. He stated, "Helmets save lives. Traffic rules are designed for public safety; therefore, every citizen should adhere to them sincerely."
