Mayor Roshni Khalkho swings into action ahead of Sawan; inspects Swarnarekha Ghat
Convenience of Shiva devotees to be the top priority; directives issued for ghat cleaning, lighting, changing rooms, and decoration of the pilgrimage route.
Ranchi: With the aim of ensuring the convenience of the lakhs of Shiva devotees visiting Pahadi Baba for *Jalabhishek* (ritual water offering) during the holy month of Sawan, Ranchi Municipal Corporation Mayor Roshni Khalkho inspected the Swarnarekha Ghat in Namkum on Tuesday. During the inspection, she directed corporation officials to ensure cleanliness, adequate lighting, changing rooms, and attractive decoration along the entire pilgrimage route.
The Mayor stated that the Municipal Corporation would pay special attention to every aspect of the devotees' comfort during Sawan this year. Instructions have been issued to complete all necessary arrangements well in time to ensure that *Kanwariyas* and Shiva devotees—who collect water from the Swarnarekha River in Namkum and travel to the Pahadi Baba Temple—do not face any inconvenience.
She also appealed to citizens to actively participate in maintaining cleanliness and facilitating the devotees, ensuring that this holy festival of Sawan concludes in a clean, safe, and organized environment.
Officials from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation and several prominent figures were present during the inspection, including Ward Councilor Pawan Tirkey, Mandal President Ashok Gop, Dharmendra Singh, Dhananjay Verma, Jugnu Sahu, Gopal Lohia, Rakesh Singh, Shiv Ram Das, and Naveen Soni.
