CY TB test is a skin test: Civil Surgeon
Ranchi: Under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Programme, CY TB related skin test IGRA test was launched in the Civil Surgeon Office Auditorium. This program was presided over by Civil Surgeon Ranchi Dr. Prabhat Kumar. DTO Dr. Siddheshwar Baski, District Program Manager Praveen Kumar, DPC Rakesh Rai, WHO Consultant Dr. Sanjeev Jha, Medical Officers in charge of all blocks, BPM and other health workers participated in the program. Under the CY TB test, three persons Prince Kumar, Virajo Devi and Sanjay Oraon were given skin test related to CY TB in the program. After the skin test, if there is a swelling of 5 mm at the place of test, then that person will be suffering from TB, after which the person will be given TB medicine for three months as per the rules. Civil Surgeon Ranchi Dr. Prabhat Kumar said that CY TB test is a skin test which is used to detect latent tuberculosis (TB) infection. This is a situation where a person is infected with TB bacteria but does not have active TB disease. This skin test is mainly done on a person who has come in contact with pulmonary tuberculosis. This test can be done on a person above 18 years of age.
DTO Dr. Siddheshwar Baski said that in the last one year, about 2 lakh patients have been given adult TB vaccination in Jharkhand, no patient has suffered any harm from this. Along with the skin test related to CY TB, a meeting has been held to make a micro plan of 100 days TV campaign in the district. Under this, screening of economically weaker sections will be done in all the blocks and urban areas of Ranchi.
