BJP Launches Fierce Protest Over Chanho Incident; Levels Serious Allegations Against Government and Administration
If the Victim’s Family Does Not Receive Justice, the BJP Will Launch a Major Agitation: Neelkanth Singh Munda
BJP Inquiry Committee Report Raises Questions Regarding the Administration's Role
Ranchi: The BJP has opened a front against the state government and the administration regarding the Chanho (Kadamtoli) incident. While submitting its report to State President Aditya Sahu, the BJP's inquiry committee alleged that, instead of taking action, the administration is engaged in a cover-up regarding the matter.
Speaking at a press conference, State Vice President Neelkanth Singh Munda stated that even four days after the incident, the main accused remain at large. He alleged that, under pressure from the government, the administration is actively working to shield the culprits. The BJP leader warned that if arrests are not made soon, the party will launch a statewide agitation.
A BJP delegation met with the victim's family and inspected the crime scene. The inquiry committee claims that a minor dispute was deliberately given a communal color in a premeditated manner, leading to the attack. According to the report, a large mob barged into the house and physically assaulted the women, children, and other family members.
Neelkanth Singh Munda alleged that the victim's family was even threatened with expulsion from the village. He asserted that law and order in the state has completely collapsed and that the government is proving incapable of taking impartial action, even in sensitive cases.
The BJP has demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits, protection for the victim's family, and an impartial investigation from the administration. Party leaders stated that the BJP would fight at every level to ensure that the victim's family receives justice.
Arti Kujur, Yogendra Pratap Singh, Ajay Sah, and Vinay Jaiswal were also present at the press conference. Notably, BJP State President Aditya Sahu had constituted a seven-member delegation to conduct an on-the-ground inquiry into the matter; this delegation visited the crime scene on May 27.
