'Red alarm' of summer in Jharkhand: Minister Irfan Ansari gave indications of holiday in schools, put the administration on high alert


Ranchi: Sun's heat and severe heat wave have disrupted normal life in Jharkhand. In view of the deteriorating conditions of the state, Disaster Management and Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has taken a tough stance. On Sunday, the Minister directed the entire administrative and health system to remain on high alert. He has made it clear that any kind of negligence in public safety will not be tolerated.


Children's safety paramount: Preparation for school holidays


Amid rising temperatures, the biggest concern is being expressed about the health of school children. Minister Dr. Ansari has directed the Deputy Commissioners (DC) of all the districts to declare holiday in schools with immediate effect in areas of extreme heat.

"Sending children to school on a scorching afternoon is like taking a risk with their health. Children's safety is our first priority, and there will be no compromise on it."

Strict instructions to hospitals: ban on leave and availability of medicines


While reviewing the health department, the minister has asked the doctors, nurses and support staff to remain alert. Instructions have been given to ensure separate beds and adequate medicines for heat stroke and dehydration patients in hospitals. The minister has warned that if negligence in treatment is found, strict action will be taken against the concerned officials.


Mercury will reach 44°C in these districts

According to the Meteorological Department, Yellow Alert has been issued in the state on April 19-20. There is a possibility of further increase in temperature by 3 to 5 degrees in the next five days.

Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari himself is monitoring the situation in the state hourly, so that any emergency situation can be dealt with immediately.
