Severe Heatwave Grips Ranchi: School Timings Revised; New Schedule Effective from Tomorrow
Ranchi:In view of the continuously rising temperatures and the severe heatwave sweeping across Jharkhand, the Ranchi District Administration—acting under the directives of the State Government—has implemented a major change in school timings. District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has issued an official order to this effect.
This new regulation will apply uniformly to all government, government-aided, minority, and private schools across the district.
What are the New Timings?
According to the directives issued by the administration, classes will now be conducted during the morning shift:
Classes KG to 08: From 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
Classes 09 to 12: From 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon).
Instructions for Teachers
Teachers and non-teaching staff in government schools are required to remain on school premises even after classes have concluded for the students. They have been instructed to remain present from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM to carry out non-academic duties.
Order Effective from Tomorrow
The revised school schedule will come into effect starting April 21, 2026. Parents and school managements have been directed to ensure that arrangements for the children's commute are made in accordance with the new timings, thereby providing the students with relief from the scorching heat.
