Giridih, September 17, 2026: Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached Harsinghrayadih in Giridih on Thursday and attended the Dwadoshakarma ceremony of former Cabinet Minister Late Sudivya Kumar Sonu.
The Chief Minister visited the residence of the late leader and paid floral tribute to his photograph. He also met the bereaved family members, including his wife, son and daughter, and expressed his heartfelt condolences.
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the untimely demise of Sudivya Kumar Sonu was a great loss for the state. He said that Sonu was highly active during his tenure as a minister and his dedication and personality were well known.
The Chief Minister said that society and the state would always need people with the courage, enthusiasm and commitment that Sudivya Kumar Sonu possessed. He said that it was still difficult to accept that Sonu was no longer among them.
Hemant Soren said that no one can change the course of destiny and everyone has to move forward accepting the realities of life. He also noted that people from different political backgrounds had attended the Dwadoshakarma ceremony, reflecting the respect and affection that Sudivya Kumar Sonu commanded among people.
The Chief Minister said that Sudivya Kumar Sonu had consistently worked for the concerns of people from different sections of society. Even though he was no longer physically present, his personality and contribution would continue to remain an example and a source of inspiration.
MLA Kalpana Soren also paid floral tribute to Late Sudivya Kumar Sonu and met the bereaved family members to express her condolences.
Several ministers, Rajya Sabha MPs, MLAs, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, senior government officials, Giridih district administration officials, public representatives, local residents, supporters and well-wishers attended the Dwadoshakarma ceremony and paid their respects to the departed leader.
