Preparations for Lok Adalats Intensify in Ranchi; Special Lok Adalat on April 25, National Lok Adalat on May 9
Ranchi, April 10, 2026: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, has initiated extensive preparations to ensure the successful organization of the upcoming Lok Adalats (People's Courts). In this regard, a meeting was convened with all judicial officers of the Civil Court, Ranchi, under the chairmanship of the Judicial Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Anil Kumar Mishra-I. During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on the expeditious disposal of pending cases, and directives were issued to ensure the maximum possible service of notices.
It was announced that a Special Lok Adalat dedicated to cases under the N.I. Act (Cheque Bounce) will be organized on April 25, while the National Lok Adalat is scheduled to be held on May 9. The Secretary of DALSA stated that these Lok Adalats would facilitate the settlement of cases involving compoundable criminal offenses, civil disputes, matrimonial and family matters, labor issues, electricity-related disputes, traffic challans, land acquisition matters, and motor vehicle cases.
He appealed to litigants to utilize the Lok Adalat mechanism to settle their cases, thereby saving both time and money. Furthermore, all government departments have also been directed to refer the maximum possible number of cases to the Lok Adalat for resolution.
