A Joyful Trip Turns to Tragedy in an Instant: Indian Tourists' Boat Capsizes in Vietnam; 15 Lives Lost at Sea
Phu Quoc (Vietnam): Indian families setting out for a holiday likely never imagined that this journey would become their last. In a tragic accident on Saturday afternoon near the beautiful tourist destination of Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam, a speedboat carrying Indian tourists capsized at sea. Fifteen Indian tourists lost their lives in this heart-wrenching incident, while 23 others were rescued and hospitalized; they are currently undergoing treatment.
According to the Indian Embassy, the deceased include 10 citizens from Tamil Nadu, two from Kerala, and three from Andhra Pradesh. At the time of the accident, the speedboat was carrying 32 tourists and some crew members. The incident occurred around 1:00 PM local time on Saturday. In an instant, the boat, once filled with joy, became a scene of screams and mourning.
Local officials stated that the speedboat, bearing registration number AG-26751, belonged to Minh Huy Phu Quoc Trading and Tourism Company Limited. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
