Major ED move in Jharkhand liquor scam: Rameshwar Oraon questioned for 7 hours; ₹30 lakh had been found at his residence
Ranchi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned former Finance Minister and MLA Rameshwar Oraon for approximately seven hours on Tuesday in connection with the Jharkhand liquor scam case. He had arrived at the ED office around 10:30 AM.
Earlier, the investigative agency had also questioned his son, Rohit Oraon, regarding the same matter.
It is noteworthy that in 2023, the ED conducted raids at 32 locations during the investigation into the liquor scam. It was during this operation that reports emerged of approximately ₹30 lakh in cash being recovered from Rameshwar Oraon's residence. The ED is now investigating other aspects related to the case.
