Emphasis on Improving Health Services; Deputy Commissioner Directs 100% Bed Occupancy in MTC Centers


Lohardaga: Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Meena held a review meeting with the Health Department on Monday. During this meeting, held at the Collectorate, he issued clear directives ensuring that better health facilities are made available to the common citizens of the district, and emphasized that no negligence of any kind in health services would be tolerated.


Focus on the Health of Pregnant Women and Children


During the review, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the status of Ante-Natal Care (ANC) check-ups, first-trimester registrations, and hemoglobin testing for pregnant women. He issued the following directives:


* Women in rural areas are to be mobilized for ante-natal check-ups through the network of Sevikas, Sahayikas, and Sahiyas. 


* Medical Officers-in-Charge must formulate and implement a concrete action plan to promote institutional deliveries

Strict Measures Against Malnutrition


While reviewing the Malnutrition Treatment Centers (MTCs) operational in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed all Medical Officers-in-Charge to **ensure 100% occupancy of available beds** for the admission of severely malnourished children and to conduct their regular monitoring.


Review of Infrastructure and Scheme


Schemes being implemented under PM-ABHIM (PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission) and the 15th Finance Commission were also reviewed during the meeting. The Deputy Commissioner:


* Directed the speedy completion of health projects currently under construction or remaining unfinished. 


* Instructed officials to expedite the handover process for the Critical Care Block constructed within the district. 


* Sought information regarding the number of sanctioned posts within the Health Department versus the number of personnel currently employed.


No Negligence in Emergency Service


Reviewing the availability of emergency beds in hospitals, the Deputy Commissioner stated that patients must receive immediate treatment in emergency situations. He instructed officials to ensure that the District Administration receives no complaints regarding health facilities. The meeting was attended primarily by Civil Surgeon Dr. Raju Kachhap, DPM Nazish Akhtar, all Medical Officers-in-Charge, and other Health Department personnel, including epidemiologists.
