Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Residential School’ to be Built for Children of Martyred Soldiers; CM Hemant Soren Directs Expedited Construction

Ranchi, April 27, 2026:

A significant meeting was held on Monday at the Jharkhand Secretariat, presided over by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, to discuss in detail the construction of the proposed ‘Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Residential School’ at the Jaguar Campus on Ring Road, Ranchi. Officials presented a comprehensive outline of the school's construction plan, proposed facilities, and future roadmap to the Chief Minister.

During the meeting, it was announced that this residential school would offer education from Class 1 to Class 12, and special priority for admission would be accorded to the children of martyred police personnel, Army soldiers, and CPMF (Central Paramilitary Forces) personnel. The Chief Minister directed that the land required for the construction work be identified and the necessary formalities be completed as expeditiously as possible. Officials informed him that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the initiative is ready, and the process of identifying the land is currently underway.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren stated that the state government's priority is to provide quality education to the children of martyred soldiers. He emphasized the need to ensure that the school is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities—such as smart classrooms, ICT labs, a library, sports grounds, and other infrastructure—all built to the highest standards.

He further directed that the school be operated in alignment with the standards of premier educational institutions, and that superior residential arrangements be ensured for students in Classes 6 through 12. Particular emphasis was placed on providing separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, as well as offering high-quality academic and learning resources.

The meeting also included discussions regarding a proposed hospital for police families at JAP-10, Hotwar, Ranchi. It was noted that this hospital would be operated under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, initially featuring a capacity of 50 beds, which could subsequently be expanded to 100 beds. The Chief Minister issued directives to ensure the availability of modern medical facilities and specialist doctors at the hospital.

Attendees at the meeting included Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, along with senior officials from the Departments of Home, Health, and Education, as well as high-ranking officers from the police administration.
