Free Health Check-up Camp Organised by Ranchi Municipal Corporation on Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

On the occasion of the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day, the Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) organised a free health check-up camp at Swami Vivekananda Sarovar (Bada Talab). The initiative aimed to promote the spirit of Healthy Citizens and Honoured Sanitation Workers.

RMC Administrator Sushant Gaurav paid floral tribute to the statue of Swami Vivekananda at the Ramakrishna Mission and extended greetings to the citizens of Ranchi on National Youth Day.

Health Services Provided to 1,463 People

A total of 1,463 citizens and sanitation workers benefited from the camp. Medical examinations included blood sugar, haemoglobin, blood pressure (BP), eye check-ups and other basic health screenings. Doctors provided on-the-spot medical consultation, and free medicines were distributed to the beneficiaries.

Sanitation Workers Are the Backbone of the City

Addressing the gathering, Administrator Sushant Gaurav said that sanitation workers play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and public health in the city. He directed officials to organise regular health camps, ensure safety equipment and connect sanitation workers with welfare schemes.

He also announced that similar health camps will be organised at different locations in the coming days and tetanus vaccination will be provided to all sanitation workers at Bakri Bazaar to ensure their safety during field work.

Teamwork and Public Participation

Four dedicated teams of the Municipal Corporation were deployed to ensure smooth registration, medical examination and medicine distribution. Local residents also actively supported the event, contributing to its orderly and successful conduct.

The Municipal Corporation reiterated that the health and dignity of citizens and sanitation workers remain a continuous priority.

The programme was attended by Assistant Public Health Officer Dr. Anand Shekhar Jha, Dr. Kiran Kumari, the City Manager, and other officials and staff of Ranchi Municipal Corporation.
