Lohardaga DC directs maximum loan support for JSLPS groups, timely insurance claim settlement, and new training courses for youth

JSLPS review meeting held under the chairmanship of DC Dr. Tarachand

Lohardaga:
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand on Friday chaired a review meeting of JSLPS, issuing key directives to ensure greater loan availability for self-help groups, timely processing of insurance claims, and introduction of new employment-oriented training programmes for youth in the district.

Maximum loan support for SHGs, VOs and CLFs

During the review of activities under NRLM for the financial year 2025–26, the functioning of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Village Organisations (VOs) and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) was discussed.
The DC instructed all Block Programme Managers to ensure that these collectives receive loans ranging from 1.5 lakh to 20 lakh rupees, with regular monitoring. BPMs performing well will be recognised.

Under the Phulo-Jhano Ashirwad Abhiyan, officials were told to identify women who continue selling handia despite receiving benefits and help them shift to alternative livelihood options.
The DC also directed that SHG members be covered under MUDRA loans, PFME and AIF schemes through special camps.

Timely settlement of PMSBY and PMJJBY claims

The DC stressed the need for immediate processing of claims under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY).

Key instructions:

  • In case of death of an insured person who paid premiums regularly, dependents must receive benefits without delay.
  • Women suffering permanent disability must be assisted in getting the claim.
  • If the insured was covered under both schemes, dependents must receive benefits from both.
  • All claims should be filed within the stipulated time.

JSLPS groups, VOs and CLFs must be informed thoroughly about these provisions.

HMV driving and new skill training for youth

The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) was instructed to start Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving training for district youths at the earliest.
RSETI was also asked to replace traditional trades with modern, employment-oriented skill courses.

The meeting also reviewed Aajeevika Lakhpati Didi 2025–26, formation of new FPOs, and the status of various licences issued to them.
