Ranchi Administration Sets Up Extensive Bonfire Arrangements Across District to Protect People from Cold Wave
Ranchi News: In compliance with state government directives and in view of the falling night temperatures, the Ranchi district administration has made extensive bonfire arrangements across the district to provide relief to the needy during the ongoing cold wave. The initiative is being carried out under the instructions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Manjunath Bhajantri.
As part of this special drive, bonfires have been arranged not only at major intersections, bus stands, railway station premises, and clusters where homeless people sleep in the open at night, but also in all blocks of the district.
Bonfires are being lit regularly at block headquarters, panchayat bhavan premises, rural markets, religious places, labour chowks, and locations with a higher presence of homeless and daily-wage earners.
The Deputy Commissioner has already issued strict instructions to all Circle Officers and Block Development Officers to ensure that there is no shortage of firewood or coal. They have also been directed to arrange additional bonfires immediately if required due to weather conditions.
DC Bhajantri said that ensuring the safety and comfort of vulnerable citizens during winter is the administration’s top priority:
“During this cold weather, it is our foremost responsibility that no citizen—especially the homeless, daily-wage workers, rickshaw pullers, and night-shift workers—faces any hardship.”
The district administration has also appealed to the public to reach out in case of any complaint or requirement related to bonfire arrangements.
